“Aviation Staff School is the best in Zaria”
JSS3 Students Assert

The 2023/2024 set of JSS 3 graduating students at Aviation Staff School Zaria gathered together and had a small party on Friday, 5th of July, 2024. The purpose of the small party was to enable them reflect on their life journeys so far and also celebrate as they conclude their Junior Secondary education.
The group of students who were visibly thrilled about their learning experiences in Aviation Staff School were seen cutely dressed in simple native attires as they exchanged pleasantries and laughters amongst themselves around their classes.
When approached and asked to comment on their experiences at Aviation Staff School during their Junior Secondary School days, they were all eager to share their stories and aspirations for life ahead.
First to share her thoughts was young Miss Rejoice SarkinNoma, who believes Aviation Staff School is the best in Zaria and is glad to be graduating from the School at this level. She was particularly grateful to her teachers who, according to her, “had been working hard all along to help her become a great person”. Her ambition is to become a Nurse, specializing in Mid-Wifery. She said her favourite subjects are English Language and Basic Science, emphasizing that she likes English because it is a key medium of communication in school and the society at large.
“I am looking forward to coming back and continue my education here”, she concluded.
Another one of them was Master David Ocholi Umaru, who said he was really glad to have been privileged to attend the school for his Junior Secondary education. The young lad who aspires to study Mechanical Engineering in future, also said he would definitely come back to Aviation Staff School and continue his education at the Senior level. “I am aspiring to become a Mechanical Engineer because I want to help my country to build things… help the country to grow by putting things together and making them work as one”, he said.
Interestingly, Master Ocholi’s favourite subject is Creative Arts and he has a justification for it: “it helps you think creatively on how to decorate places and helps to make new things... helps the environment.” He particularly thanked “Uncle Friday” for being the best Creative Arts teacher he has ever had and for positively counselling him on many things about life.
Master Idris Idris Bature also shared some thoughts, saying he wishes to study Electrical Engineering at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and thinks Aviation Staff School is really preparing him well towards realizing that goal in life. “This is school is quite good; and I will encourage other children to come here and study. The teachers are really, really trying for us and we appreciate their efforts”, he concluded.
When asked to also comment, Miss Yerisobiya Matthew was full of gratitude to God for affording her the opportunity to receive her Junior School education at Aviation Staff School. “We’ve just finished our Junior WAEC and are celebrating this special day today. This school is the best to me and I am very, very grateful to God for everything...”, she said.
Yerisobiya aspires to be a Medical Doctor.
And finally, there was Master Abdullahi Idris Bature who also would love to become an Engineer because he loves creating things that will be useful for society. “It is sad that Nigeria seems not to be able to create things, so I want to become an Engineer [and] help change that narrative...”
Earlier in her office, the Principal, Florence Samuel, expressed joy with the modest achievements made by the School in impacting on the lives of the young students. “They are our pride and we are happy to have been instrumental in their becoming educated up to the level they are celebrating today”, the Principal said. She also appreciated the students for sharing their special lunch with her, which they cooked and ate amongst themselves.
It was a quiet, low-key event organized by the graduating students just for themselves without distracting other students who were seen busy with their regular academic activities. The Aviation Staff School family consisting of other students, parents and staff wish them success in their future endeavours.
