Warm greetings to you this fine Saturday morning; we are really delighted to have you here with us at Aviation Staff School, Zaria.

The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) Staff School, Zaria was established in October 1983 by the two existing staff unions of College (i.e. the SSA and NASU). The unions appointed the Staff School Management Committee (SSMC) to oversee the welfare of staff and maintenance of the school infrastructure. The first SSMC Chairman was Engr. Silas Ibitoye Bello, and the pioneer Head Mistress was the late Mrs. Beatrice Azuka Osakwe-Ogo.

The school would later go through a number of important changes over the years until October 2017 when the school was handed over to the NCAT Consult to manage.

The Secondary School arm of the school came into existence in 2017/2018 academic session through the efforts of the General Manager of the Consult. Mrs. Patience I. Uju was appointed as the first Ag. Principal. The Secondary School which started with six (6) students has now increased to over 200 students as at the end of the 2023/2024 academic session.

The sources of funding for the school is mainly through the school fees paid by students and also through support from the school’s Parents-Teachers Association (PTA).

Students are encouraged at all times to study hard in order to excel academically. The school also encourages students to engage in extra-curricular activities which include sports and games, as well as clubs and societies.

Although the school has made commendable strides over the years despite challenges, there still a lot that can be done to achieve even more. Such areas of improvements include staff welfare, procurement of school buses, having an on-site school bookshop, multi-purpose hall and canteen. The school is also in need of laboratories (like computer laboratory and science laboratories) as well as a well-equipped school library for both students and teachers to use.
